My Linderman AlbumWelcome to my
online Linderman album. My Linderman Family have been in the USA for many,
many generations there is even a little about them in the History of Berks
Co. Pennsylvania. The tale is about indians attacking the neighbors, and
then going to the home of a Linderman where there were two men and a woman
in the house, and they went upstairs and the woman was killed by an arrow
through the roof.

George Franklin
Linderman(1889-1937)
George Linderman was a self taught man, he quit school
in the third grade, age 8, to go to work in the mines as a slate picker,
when his father died. Later he studied at night and became an engineer. He
worked in later years at an ice cream business in the Spring Garden
section of Philadelphia. But the early years in the mines and being in
a mine accident took its toll and ended George's life
early.

Flora Conrad Linderman
I do not have any information on Flora. I know that she
was the mother of my grandfather George Franklin Linderman. She also was
mother of John, Henry and possibly a Fredrick. We know that when my
grandfather was about eight years old his father died and Flora later
remarried a Mr. Schlagel. She had one daughter we know of through that
union named Ruth.

Esther May Berninger(1895-1992) and
George Linderman
Esther May ran away and married George against her
parents wishes in 1911. They first lived in Shamoken Pa. where they owned
a store, it burned in 1914, and they moved first to Philadelphia, and then
to Williamstown NJ. After George died in 1937 Esther went on to raise her
remaining five children that were still home alone. Esther May lived to
be 97 years old. She was always caring for the babies and the sick and old
in the family. The day that she died she ate her supper said she was tired
and was going to take a nap, she never woke, and was never
sick.
